In the 1930s, our President’s grandfather Morton Marshia, a Vermont farmer, witnessed the transformative power of rural electrification in his community. For the first time, electricity allowed for the mechanization of many farming operations such as threshing, milking, and the hoisting of grain. Realizing that his community could secure its economic independence by harnessing electricity, Morton joined the board of his local rural electric cooperative to ensure fellow farmers access to this vital new resource.
Just as Morton recognized the need for farms to embrace electricity, today’s farmers recognize the opportunity to leverage energy management to increase their profitability and resilience.
In 1991, our founding partners launched EnSave with the goal of enhancing the sustainability of the agricultural sector through energy management. Early on, we began partnering with local electric utilities in the Northeast to provide dairy farms with energy audits and incentives for installing energy efficient equipment.
Today, we work throughout the United States and serve all sectors of agriculture. We are proud to work with a diverse group of clients and partners, ranging from small community-based organizations to some of the nation’s largest utility companies.
As we continue to grow and diversify, EnSave remains close to its founding principle of delivering the best possible service to our clients.
