U.S. Dairy Sustainability Commitment

Farm Energy Audit Program

In April 2008, Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), the National Milk Producers Federation and the International Dairy Foods Association launched a comprehensive sustainability initiative to encourage industry innovations, improve environmental performance, and position the industry for future marketplace demands. This initiative brings together producers, processors, distributors, retailers, and others in the dairy supply chain to address sustainability.

EnSave is pleased to be working with The Innovation Center for US Dairy and other industry leaders to develop the Farm Energy Audit Program (FEAP). The overall objective of this program is to spur energy efficiency improvements on America’s dairy farms.

EnSave Chief Executive Officer Craig Metz is the Development Team Captain for the FEAP. Other team participants include DMI, Blu Skye Sustainability Consulting, EnSave, Inc., Maryland Energy Administration, the National Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils (NARC&DC), USDA NRCS, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and Native Energy.
