We maintain a variety of formal partnerships with fellow innovators in the agricultural and energy industries. We work hand-in-hand with these partners to help their constituents reduce energy and greenhouse gas emissions, and to save money.
Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy
EnSave is the Chief Energy Consultant to the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, as well as the team leader for the “Farm Energy Efficiency” initiative, one of several projects implemented by the Innovation Center for the U.S. Dairy Sustainability to achieve the to reduce the carbon footprint of the entire dairy value chain—from “grass to glass”—by 25% by the year 2020.
The Farm Energy Efficiency initiative brings together producers, processors, distributors, retailers, and others in the dairy supply chain to address sustainability in a pre-competitive manner. Its goal is to complete 7,200 energy audits, save 216 million kilowatt hours, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 168,000 pounds of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2020.
Since the Innovation Center was launched in 2008, EnSave has played a critical role in advancing energy efficiency within the dairy industry through marketing, technical support, and program design.

Dairy Cooperative Partnerships
EnSave maintains memorandums of understanding with several of the nation’s largest and most forward-thinking milk cooperatives. Through these MOUs, we assist co-ops with achieving and reporting on their corporate sustainability goals, and provide services to their members in the form of energy auditing, energy management, and securing financial assistance through federal, state, and utility programs for energy and greenhouse gas reduction projects.
Since 2007, EnSave has partnered with NARCDC, which represents locally-led Resource Conservation & Development Councils nationwide. Through this partnership we train council staff as energy data collectors and work together to develop and implement farm energy efficiency programs.
EnSave has had an MOU in place with NACD since 2007. NACD represents the nation’s 3,000 conservation districts, and we work closely with numerous districts throughout the country to train personnel as energy data collectors and collaborate on energy efficiency and resource conservation projects.
